Dear Paul

Apologies for the delay in coming back to you - it’s been a mad week!
Unfortunately, I can now confirm that we’re not able to proceed with the Gunthorpe Lock site.
It’s disappointing given the work that’s been put into it over the last couple of years, but problems arose
earlier in the year over access to the site that we have been unable to resolve. We looked carefully at
canal delivery of the turbines and other construction materials as an option, but it proved to be unviable
and the alternative road access is too narrow with no available opportunities for widening.
Sadly, there seems no way around the problem.
